Zoom Integration Guide

Connect your Zoom account to Nzura HR & Payroll so recruiters can create a real Zoom meeting for every candidate interview — automatically — and share the join link with the applicant.

Overview

When you connect Zoom, scheduling a candidate interview in Nzura creates a Zoom meeting on your own Zoom account with the correct date, time, duration and time zone. The Zoom join link is saved on the interview and shared with the candidate and interview panel. Rescheduling the interview updates the Zoom meeting; cancelling the interview cancels the Zoom meeting. The connection is per company and can be removed at any time.

Adding the app (connect Zoom)

Before you start

Steps

  1. Sign in to Nzura at https://nzura.co.tz and open HR & Payroll.
  2. Switch to Jobs mode (the toggle at the top of the page).
  3. In the left menu, click Zoom & Meet.
  4. On the Zoom card, click Connect Zoom.
  5. A Zoom sign-in window opens. Sign in and click Allow to authorize Nzura.
  6. You are returned to Nzura and the card shows “Connected” with your Zoom account email. Zoom is now ready to use.
You only connect once per company. After that, every recruiter on your account can create Zoom interviews without signing in to Zoom again.

Using the app (schedule a Zoom interview)

  1. In Recruiting → Interviews, click + Schedule Interview.
  2. Choose the candidate, set the date, start and end time and time zone, and add interviewers if needed.
  3. Under Interview option select Video meeting, then make sure Zoom is selected and shows “Connected”.
  4. Click Schedule. Nzura creates the Zoom meeting and saves the join link on the interview.
  5. The join link appears on the interview row and is shared with the candidate. Click Join link at the meeting time, or Copy to share it.

Changing or cancelling

Removing the app (disconnect Zoom)

You can disconnect Zoom at any time. Disconnecting stops Nzura from creating new Zoom meetings and deletes the stored Zoom tokens for your company.

  1. Open HR & Payroll → switch to Jobs mode → click Zoom & Meet in the left menu.
  2. On the Zoom card, click Disconnect. Your stored Zoom tokens are removed immediately.

Removing access from Zoom’s side

You can also remove the app from your Zoom account: sign in to the Zoom App MarketplaceManage → Added Apps → find Nzura HR & Payroll → click Remove. This revokes Nzura’s access to your Zoom account.

Permissions & data

Nzura requests only the minimum Zoom permissions needed to manage interview meetings:

Permission (scope)Why it is needed
meeting:write:meetingCreate the interview meeting, and reschedule/cancel it.
meeting:read:meetingRead/verify the meeting that was created.
user:read:userIdentify the connected Zoom account so the meeting is created under it.

Nzura stores only the encrypted OAuth tokens, the meeting join link and ID, and the connected account email. Tokens are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and deleted when you disconnect. Nzura does not access recordings, chat, contacts, or any meeting it did not create. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to do
The Zoom sign-in window closed without connecting.Make sure pop-ups are allowed for nzura.co.tz, then click Connect Zoom again. If a previous session is cached, sign out of Zoom in that window first.
The card still shows “Not connected” after authorizing.Reload the Zoom & Meet page. If it still shows disconnected, click Connect Zoom again and complete the Allow step.
Scheduling an interview did not create a Zoom link.Confirm Zoom shows “Connected”, that you selected Video meeting → Zoom, and that the Zoom account used can create meetings. Reconnect Zoom if the token has expired.
“Authorization expired” or meetings stopped being created.Disconnect and reconnect Zoom from the Zoom & Meet tab to refresh the authorization.
